About the book | Blue Ormus: Emergence
Arianna is an almost 18 year-old African American woman about to graduate high school who loves her suburban life, the smell of meat cooking on the stove and dancing with her sister Alexis and mother. She is very much attached to the skating rink, her friendship with Natalie and her own academic achievements. She is concerned only with being a champion skater and being the pride of Laurelton, Queens. She feels like she is responsible for her father’s death and sees it as a blemish on her record of being perfect. She secretly hates herself for surviving the car wreck that killed her father. She believes that excelling in everything will keep her from feeling the pain. The story follows Arianna, who obtains super powers due to a substance called Ormus that naturally flows through her body. Faced with perils at every corner that forces her to question her own existence, this super heroine is confronted with one burning question… how do I use my new ability to fix everything?
