About Greg Mitchell

Gospel Music Professional with the Anointing of God!

Gregory Mitchell has risen from humble beginnings to become one of the leading forces in the Gospel music industry today. Raised in Timmonsville, SC, his love of music and desire to be used by GOD led him to pray earnestly for greater talent. This hunger and thirst was filled at Zion Temple P.A. of W church, and his multi-instrumental talent and vocal abilities were recognized across the South by the age of 12!

A family relocation at age 13 proved to be a blessing in disguise. Gregory settled in the hotbed of contemporary Gospel music, Brooklyn, NY, and his musical abilities flourished! While attending Erasmus Hall High School (the alma mater of Rev. Timothy Wright), Gregory played for several high school Gospel choirs, the True Gospel Ensemble aka TGE (a community youth choir) formed by him and a childhood friend Tracy Howard Jr where they met in Timmonsville SC, soon became known as an anointed Gospel songwriter. His “Praise The LORD” was one of the powerful selections on the groundbreaking first project by Hezekiah Walker and Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. His songs have been recorded by Sis. Ruby Terry, the Garden State Mass Choir, the NY Fellowship Mass Choir, Rev. Marquis Egerton, and Rev. Timothy Wright, to name but a few.

Gregory’s association with the legendary ‘Godfather of Gospel music’, Rev. Timothy Wright, began as a substitute drummer on a program while in high school. Since then, Gregory has progressed to keyboardist, church Minister of Music, songwriter, and Music Director of choice for Rev. Wright’s recording sessions. “Hold On”, “Judge Me Not”, “No One Can Love Me Like YOU”, and “One More Day” are but a few of the powerful songs by this anointed writing-singing duo!

Secular exposure has only filled out Gregory’s musical base. A stint as Music Director for INTRO, and time touring with Cameo and with Sony artist Taja Seville has convinced Gregory that Gospel music must be marketed and promoted the same way that secular music is. As a result, Gregory has worked with Quincy Jones, and has appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel, David Letterman, SingSpiration, and Saturday Night Live. Gregory was AMD for Iyanla VanZant’s “In The Meantime” groundbreaking tour, and has worked and performed with every significant Gospel music personality of the past thirty plus years, from James Cleveland to Kirk Franklin!

As the creative impetus behind several successful CD projects in the past couple of years, Gregory is now exploding in the industry not only as a Gospel record producer but and is please to release the first single from Greg Mitchell & Greater Richmond Fellowship Choir “ Praise the Name of Jesus” “Winning Souls By Any Means Necessary”, and ready to support your ministry efforts and bless you with his anointed professionalism. …
